About Kev Brockschmidt, Illustrator
Kev Brockschmidt, Illustrator, lives south of Seattle in Kent, Washington. He has been producing illustrations and commercial artwork since 1990, after earning a degree in graphic design from Washington State University. Illustration is an appropriate profession for Kev to have chosen, since he was named after "Kevin the Bold," a swashbuckling Irish Shepherd from a comic strip that ran in the 1950s and 1960s.
During his career, Kev has been the creative director of a large Internet company, and he has a long list of freelance clients in the United States and abroad, including Gibbs Smith, Nintendo, Wizards of the Coast, Starlog, Reader's Digest, and King Features Syndicate. Specializing in humorous cartoon illustration that is colorful, dynamic, and zany, Kev has worked on a variety of projects, like digital art, animation, book design, and website development.
Kev and his wife, Tami, have four children. He has a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, which he also teaches. He also holds a commercial pilot's license. His other hobbies are singing and playing instruments, including guitar (acoustic, electric, and bass), keyboard, and the drums. He and Tami enjoy traveling to tropical locales, like Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Belize.
